[---1---]

Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. What we see of the planet are just the cloudtops of its extremely dense atmosphere. Jupiter appears in our sky as a bright, steadily shining star. You might have noticed Jupiter in the moon's vicinity this morning. [---2---]

If you're in the Americas, the moon and Jupiter will be closest together tomorrow morning – Sunday. From Earth's eastern hemisphere - Asia, Australia and New Zealand – you'll see the moon closest to Jupiter on Monday morning. [---3---] At mid-northern latitudes – like those in the U.S. and Europe - the moon and Jupiter rise about two and a half hours before sunrise.

At mid-southern latitudes – Australia or New Zealand – they rise more than five hours before the sun. You can't miss Jupiter because it's so much brighter than any star. [---5---] They will be together before dawn for the next few days.

You'll find charge showing Jupiter near the moon at the website. I'm Joel Block. I'm Deborah Byrd, for ES, a clear voice for S. We’re at ES.org.
